Out of hours is between 6pm every evening until 8.30am every morning, every weekend and Bank Holiday.

Out of Hours

When it is less urgent than 999

Call 111

When the surgery is closed ring 111 for urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Urgent care Centre

The nearest Urgent Care Centre is at Shotley Bridge Community Hospital.  The urgent care centre provides treatment or advice for people who have a minor injury or suddenly feel ill. Call 111 for an urgent care centre appointment.

Things that aren't emergencies but could need help quickly could include: Chest infections, urine infections, suspected eye infections, fevers, cuts, itches, sprains, strains or fractures.

A&E & 999 should only be used for immediate, life threatening conditions.  When the surgery is closed for training on the 3rd Thursday of every month, ring 111 for medical advice.
